Dunmurry YM v Orangefield
Orangefield travel to Napier Park for their last mid week game to take on Dunmurry YM who have had some decent results lately. Orangefield reshuffle the team due to Chris Harvey being unavailable and Brian Reynolds unable to make it in time for the k.o. Mark Dornan into centre half and Clark dempster leading the line are the only changes from saturdays tough game with Groomsport.
Dunmurry start well as they put Orangefield under pressure in the opening exchanges, Darlington makes a good save from a Dunmurry forward. The visitors counter with a good attack down the left started by Cosgrove and ending with Titensor having a good effort on goal. Dunmurry come at Orangefield again with a good strike just inside the box but denied again by a great tip over from Darlington, a smart save by the 19yr old to keep Orangefield on level terms. Orangefied defending deep as the home team pushes forward, only to be foiled again with a good intercepting tackle from Dornan. A crunching tackle from young McNaul at full back gets a stern word from the ref as Orangefield break down another attack. Orangefield making more of an impression on the game as chances go a begging from Dempster, O'Neill and Titensor. A throw in from Cousins on the left is met by Dempster with a great glancing header into the net to go 1 up but disallowed by the ref for an infringement. O'Neill in a good position to shoot but elects to play Dempster in but the Dunmurry back line cover well. In the closing minutes of the 1st half Costgrove hits a good effort from a free kick but is well saved and the teams go in level at the break.
H/T 0-0
Orangefield get the break through 10mins into the second half with a great header from Dempster at the back post 0-1. The lead didn't last long as slack marking from Orangefield allowed a free header from a set piece to come back of the post and get knocked in from the rebound to make it 1-1. A change on 60 mins sees Reynolds on for Quinn, Dunmurry with tails up press forward and win a dubious penalty when Reynolds tackles the Dunmurry forward in the box. A well taken spot kick puts the home side 2-1 up. Wilson on for Dornan on 65 mins brings new imputus to the left as Orangefield try to get back into the game. O'Niell breaks through onto a one on one and brings a good save from the keeper, Wilson goes close with a good header from the corner. Orangefield again out done by some poor marking at the back from another set piece, allows Dunmurry another free header to go 3-1 in front. Finlay on for Titensor 15 mins from time brings a last push to get somthing from the game, but Orangefield again rue alot of 1st half missed chances and a lack of desire in the 2nd half to lose a game we would expect to win.
