The senior scout of PSV Eindhoven & the Dutch FA (KNVB), Martien Pennings, arrives in Belfast this Easter to deliver a specialised coaching clinic.
Martien Pennings is operating a specialised coaches clinic at Orangefield OB FC on Sunday 5 April. Orangefield FC are based at Cregagh Sports Club on Gibson Park Avenue, just off the Cregagh Road. The clinic will operate from 10am through to 4pm. Pennings will talk about Dutch development including the set up at PSV Eindhoven.
Coaches in attendance will see his approach on the no secrets philosophy and the fascinating blue print of the PSV Eindhoven Academy. Coaches will then have the opportunity to see Martien operate a number of sessions on the pitch. This will include a selection of warm ups & favourite sessions that the Dutch FA (KNVB) & PSV use throughout their set ups. All coaches attending will be able to adapt and use with their own team. Coaches will also receive hand outs and a certificate while having time for a Q&A session.
"My philosophy on youth development is that the player is the most important, that is the key to success. Players have to find solutions for themselves at a very young age; Why am I doing this and can I do it differently? This is just some of the focus we look at within the PSV Eindhoven Academy. I will share these ideas with the coaches from Northern Ireland. I'm very excited to be visiting Belfast & look forward to meeting local coaches."

"I am very pleased that we can attract specialist coaches like Martien, Bert-Jan & Paul to Northern Ireland. The programme will be fascinating and offer coaches & children of all abilities the chance to experience the methods and philosophies of top European specialist coaches. Many children and coaches may never have the opportunity to travel to Holland so having them here in Northern Ireland is a fantastic opportunity for us all to learn and see inside the successful operation of the PSV Eindhoven Academy. My thanks go to Glenavon Football Club and Orangefield OB Football Club for the use of their fantastic facilities."

"I'm looking forward to my visit and working with the children of Northern Ireland. My philosophy is that a touch is a touch even a bad one and to let the children play without interference."
Bert-Jan Heijmans, Dutch UK Football School
"I had the pleasure of visiting Northern Ireland for the first time 18 months ago as the guest of TWSports.Org Mini Soccer Centres. I was really impressed with the kid's passion for the game and had a wonderful time being shown around in Belfast. Can't wait to come back!"
