Orangefield OB Football Club Under 13 Enniskillen Trip 2-4 May 2008
Sixteen players and five volunteers attended our end of season trip to Enniskillen.
We arrived on Friday evening at the Bridges Youth Hostel in the town centre. After a hearty meal it was off to bed for a good night's rest (pillow fights etc) in preparation for the big match against Ballinamallard FC early next morning.
We woke bleary eyed, tired and after a good breakfast set off for the game. Things were going well until an unfortunate handball from Stephen Allen on half time led to the hosts taking a 1-0 lead.
The lads rolled up their sleeves and together put in a super second half performance in which Stephen Allen scored an impressive hat trick from midfield helping to win the game 3-2.
Stephen, Louis Ingram and Adam Craig also came close, hitting the woodwork 4 times in total. Ryan Stewart mastered the defence and Daniel Allen (Speedy) worked tirelessly in midfield. Tommy Cheng had a solid game in goals. Tolu Ogunware, Thomas McIntyre and Mark Gibson all featured well.
Great credit goes to all the team who put in a great performance despite being awake half the night!! To celebrate we went on a cruise around the Lough and followed this with a trip to LaserForce.
Many thanks to Ballinamallard FC for a hard fought but sporting game. We look forward to seeing them at our Community Cup tournament on Saturday 21st June 2008.
Well done to all the boys for their good behaviour and sportsmanship. A special mention to Curtis Doak for his humour on and off the pitch.
